About Horizon Arms Research

A boutique custom firearms maker, founded in 2019 and built on hard-won expertise. Obsessed with reliability, built for the moments that matter most.

Our Story

Horizon Arms Research was founded in 2019 by its owner. Not a soldier or an operator, but a lifelong shooter determined to build defensive weapons to a true standard. To get there, HAR brought in people who had spent careers trusting their lives to their equipment: former Navy SEALs, Marines, and law enforcement officers, whose hard-won experience shapes how every weapon is specified, assembled, and tested.

That collaboration is the company's foundation: a simple conviction that a defensive weapon is only as good as the system it belongs to, and that system has to work the first time, every time.

We are a boutique custom builder, not a mass manufacturer. Every firearm is built to order, by hand, around how it will actually be carried and used. We don't sell bare-bones guns. We engineer complete platforms: the optic, the suppressor, and the accessories selected and tuned to perform as a single, coherent system.

Horizon Arms Research is part of the Horizon Experience Project, a broader commitment to building gear that earns trust through performance. We pair premium components with expert assembly, then test against one standard: reliability under pressure. That's the whole job.

What We Stand For

Reliability First

Every build is engineered and tested for the worst moment, not the range day. If it won't perform under pressure, it doesn't leave the shop.

Complete Systems

Optics, suppressors, and accessories are designed in from the start, so you receive a platform that works as one, not a parts list to reconcile.

Veteran Expertise

The downrange and law enforcement experience of our former-SEAL, Marine, and LEO collaborators informs every decision, from component selection to final hand assembly.

Boutique Standards

We build in small numbers, to order, with premium components. Quality and fit are never traded away for volume.

Build a system you can stake your life on.
