Warranty

Workmanship coverage on every HAR build · Effective June 27, 2026

Workmanship warranty

Every Horizon Arms Research build carries a workmanship warranty covering assembly and fit for the life of the firearm. If a defect in our assembly or work causes a problem with your build, we fix it. No charge, no argument.

This warranty applies to the work HAR performed: the assembly, headspacing, fitting, and function testing. It is separate from the warranties that individual component manufacturers provide on their parts (see below).

What's covered

The workmanship warranty covers defects originating in our assembly:

  • Assembly defects: improper torque, failed staking, incorrect part installation.
  • Headspace: any headspace reading outside specification at the time of delivery.
  • Fit issues traceable to assembly: feeding or extraction problems caused by chamber or feed ramp geometry introduced during the build.
  • Gas system function: over- or under-gassing resulting from our installation.

What's not covered

The workmanship warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear on consumable parts (springs, extractor, ejector, gas rings, buffer components).
  • Damage from modifications, parts substitutions, or repairs performed by anyone other than HAR after delivery.
  • Damage from use of out-of-specification, reloaded, steel-case, or corrosive ammunition.
  • Damage from neglect, improper cleaning, or exposure to corrosive agents.
  • Physical damage from drops, impacts, or improper storage.
  • Component failures that fall under an OEM manufacturer warranty (see below; we'll route those claims for you).

Component OEM warranties

Every component in a HAR build carries the manufacturer's own warranty: optics, suppressors, triggers, weapon lights, and similar accessories. We document registrations at the time of build and will assist you in filing a claim with the applicable manufacturer. If a component fails, contact the shop and we'll route the claim.

How to file a claim

Email sales@horizonarmsresearch.com with a description of the issue, photos where possible, and your original build invoice number. We respond within two business days with a determination and next steps. Firearms sent in for warranty service ship back to you at no charge once the work is complete.
